ADVERTISING CAREER EVOLUTION

While I was searching things for our timeline project, I found this funny human evolution timeline. What's funny about this is that the designer use the timeline to indicates the advertising career evolution. From an intern designer to a Chief Creative Officer, the icon indicates what the position require to do. For example, an intern designer have to use adobe softwares such as Dreamweaver, flash, Illustrator, and Photoshop. A CCO only requires a bottle of alcohol, which means that being a CCO is to have the skill of socializing with clients. What do you guys think about this? when do you think you can become a human in the adverting world?

  1. This is a great advertising find. It brings science and technology together adding a little fun at the end with the wine bottle. Midway of the evolution, it looks like the career position of ACD requires the most skills for software programs.

From this design, it'll be fun if you can apply the same concept for the "careers of student life."

  2. I love this. First of all I totally agree with the evolution and skills that are required at each stage. Second, I think it's really well designed in that the actual logos for the software are used and each title is abbreviated to relate to the design world. I also like that they are poking fun with the bottle of champagne. My only criticism would be that as an intern you apparently know more than an a designer and AD, yet you are the lowest link :(
